Hisham Oweiss, former Samsung’s General Counsel, to head CVML’s TMT practice in Dubai.

CVML announced today that Hisham Oweiss, former General Counsel, Head of Compliance, Government Affairs, and Public Policy at Samsung Electronics MENA Headquarters has joined the firm as a partner and head of TMT in the Dubai office.

Hisham brings over two decades of private practice and in-house experience to the Paris-based firm’s Dubai office, having previously served in a number of senior roles at Samsung Electronics for ten years, overlooking legal, compliance, government affairs, and public policy in 22 countries in the MENA region.

Before that he spent few years at FRiENDi Group (now known as Virgin Mobile), after first starting his career at Arab Media Group (a member of Dubai Holding).

With his broad industry experience, Oweiss will bring expertise in the technology, media, and telecommunication services industry, compliance, government affairs and public policy to the firm’s practice in Dubai.

His addition is part of CVML’s broader aim to expand its global TMT offering, which will play a major role in CVML’s growth throughout the MENA region.

Hisham has been recognized as one of the “Top 110 Lex-Falcon Awardees 2021” in the legal category at the LexTalk World Conference held on 7th & 8th April 2021 at Crowne Plaza, #Dubai.

He received his License en Droit (L.L.B equivalent) from the Lebanese University, and his Masters in Public International Law (L.L.M. equivalent) from University La Sagesse.
